A New Idea to Bring Elegance To Your Memory Keeping Layouts
Hello Crafty Friends! It's Nathalie here with a new idea on how to bring elegance to your memory keeping layouts featuring a few of Altenew's latest released products. This time, I want to show you how a simple ideas can help you enhance your memories. I love the new Shimmer Relief Paste, and when combined with the new Patterned Petals Stencil it just makes the simple of details that much more luxurious. Let's take a look at what I have created with this combination and a few other products
I love how this spread brings elegance through a few more simple elements while staying simple and clean. It was so easy to put it together.

Start with the background
I took the idea from my little cousin's photos to have an interesting but subtle background. For my page, I am using just two of the stencils from the Patterned Petals Stencil set to create the background. I started by adding a hint of Water Hyacinth Fresh Dye Ink through stencil # 3 of the set. The soft impression serves as a clean first step for my page.
2. Add A Pop of Shine for Elegance
Though my background is simple, I am adding a pop of shine by running Shimmer Relief Paste in Rose Gold through stencil #4 of the Patterned Petals Stencil Set. These small impressions bring texture and a pop of shimmer -with extreme detail- to the background. They help to complete the background in an elegant way.
3. Use Frames
Giving each element a separate space to be is a great way to bring elegance to your memory keeping layouts. For this, I am using Picture Frame Die set to help me -in a way- compartmentalize each part of this layout with style. I die cut and stacked together two of the frames to create one, then backed each of them with a piece of clear acetate, my idea was having real “frames” for my photos and title work in my layout.
4. Add Elegance to your Stories.
I am using the frame in the title page as a means to bring in the main sentiment of the layout in the title and also journaling. I decide to transform this frame into a pocket where I can house my journaling. I simply created my tag with white cardstock and Moonstone Glitter Tape. Once the journaling is added it will be easy to read by pulling tag, and also visible through the front to the frame.
5. Bring on the Final Touch
My choice to complete this spread is to bring florals in tones that match the pictures. I am using Flutter and Bloom with Fresh Dye Inks in shades of Blushberry Bliss, Sun-Kissed Delights, Jade Dreams, and Red Sunset for my florals. These die cuts are placed along the left side of the journaling pocket, and in between the corners of the photo frames.
