A New Idea for Clean and Effortless Memory Keeping (With Video Tutorial!)

Hi there! It's Nathalie with you today to share a new idea for clean and effortless memory keeping featuring the new Shine Bright Stamp Set.  This new stamp set from Amy Tangerine for Altenew is perfect for all sorts of projects especially when it comes to documenting the little moments in your lives.  The sentiments and fun icon designs are versatile, so that you can create backgrounds, titles, and embellishments all with one stamp set.  Let me show you what I have created for my Gratitude Journal:

Sometimes all you need is a bit of ink, a great stamp set, and a few extras to document your memories in a short amount of time.  For this spread, I wanted to bring two different stories together, hence a pocket page.  Then it was all about a simple background, well placed embellishments, and focusing on the stories.

Customize Your Background

Since my Gratitude Journal happens to also be my October album, a  Fall theme is recurring throughout all the stories.   So, I used the leaf icon in the Shine Bright Stamp Set and a few Fresh Dye Inks  (Martian Terrain, Blush and Rouge, and  Dusty Pink) in my new Stampwheel 2.0.  The larger platform of the Stampwheel helped me to create the wreath style stamping of the leaves in an ombre style on my 7×8.5″ cardstock.

Since my wreath has a bit of empty space in the center, I am using the new Shine On Stencil  to fill the space with the radiating hearts image.   I then repeat the stenciling in the journaling cards that are going into the pockets of the spread.   The repetition on the stenciling helps to tie the pieces in the page together.

Customize Your Sentiments

My choice to create my own embellishments using the Shine Bright Stamp Set are key to achieving clean and effortless memory keeping.  Since the color is already set in the background of the cards, all I need is Obsidian Pigment Ink to  add sentiments onto the cards.  I kept the same placement of the sentiments in the cards, so that the journaling sits right on  the center of the card, thus unifying the look of the spread.  I am taking advantage of the pigment ink to add a sentiment straight onto the picture, the final look is as if the sentiment was printed on the photo.

Customize Embellishments

I have color photos and  a stenciling on the background of the cards, therefore my choice for the embellishments is to keep them clean and simple.  I stamped a few of the icons and sentiments from the stamp set and fussy cut them to then use them on the  spread.

Keep It Simple

For my title, I am using the Mighty Alphabet Die Set and Crafty Necessities Jet Black Cardstock.  The clean alpha style is perfect for this page.  I am adding a strip of vellum between the background and the alpha die cuts as way to make the title easier to read without losing the background details.  The small camera icon from the Shine Bright Stamp Set  just brings consistency to this side of the spread, thus completing it.
