Creating Clean and Bold Memory Keeping Layouts (With Video Tutorial!)
Hello friends! It's Nathalie here with a new project all about creating clean and bold memory keeping layouts featuring the new and last -in this series- Dynamic Duo: Crescent Flowers. This beautiful stamp and stencil combo is the last design released in this series, and though the subscription for the Dynamic Duo has stopped, you can still find this and past sets in the shop. I am taking full advantage of the design in the Crescent Flowers set to create this layout
My intention for this layout is to highlight the photo of my aunt, and the combination of the bright stencil flowers and the bold stamped designs is just the right one to deliver a clean and bold memory keeping look to this spread.
Go Bold With Color
I am playing with the colors in the photo to enhance the page. I am using cool and warm shades of pink from Blushberry Bliss, Tea Party, and Rose Petal Fresh Dye Ink to color the flowers and Misty Sage Fresh Dye ink to color all the leaves.
The different tones of pink in the florals are placed in such way that they intertwined behind the photo, this makes the photo the focal point of the layout as the viewers eye is driven through the page with the direction of the stenciled clusters. The additional enamel dots (Cherry Blossoms Enamel Dots, and Rose Petal Enamel Dots) help to also add an extra pop of color and texture to the page.
Go Graphic With Stamping
I am taking advantage of the stamp set in the Dynamic Duo: Crescent Flowers to bring a contrasting look to the soft -yet bold- florals. This time, I am using Obsidian Pigment Ink to create the “circles” that surround the floral clusters.
I am also making sure that all my black stamped lines are clean and non cluttered. Using the Masking Paper is a great way to create a clustered look without mess or overcrowded lines. I added simple stamped sentiments from the Dynamic Duo: Crescent Flowers to the page as means of embellishment and sentiment.
I am opting for a simple title using the Sweet Sentiments Die set, Berrylicious Cardstock, and Dazzling Diamond Glitter Cardstock. The soft scripted title brings texture and color to the layout.
