Fairy Tale Dreams First Release Video Hop – Easy Peek-A-Boo Card Front Tutorial

Hello there, everyone! Happy Friday! Lydia here. We are starting a new feature for our new releases this month with a very special release video hop. Today, we are continuing our celebrations for our Storybook Fantasy Release with our Fairy Tale Dreams Video Hop over on our YouTube channel.
Did you know that March is National Reading Month? This release honors storybooks and fairy tales, and is sure to be a page-turner! Whimsical floral arrangements, magical book motifs, an elegant horse-drawn carriage, and a pair of charming swans are the stand-out images from this set. We have also included sentiments with a real storybook look and a die to create your own bookmark! Layering stencils, eight incredible 3D embossing folders, washi tapes, and angled blending brushes finish off the release!

Project
I'll be sharing an easy technique to get a fun peek-a-boo effect card front.
To start, I stamped the large image from Fairy Tale Floral Stamp Set into place onto a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ white card base using Obsidian Pigment Ink. I then added the base layer to the images using the Simple Coloring Stencil. For the base layers, I used Coral Berry, Fresh Lemon, and Ocean Waves Crisp Dye Inks for the large flowers, Orange Cream and Lavender Fields Crisp Dye Inks for the flower buds, and Parrot Crisp Dye Ink for the leaves. I then added the detail layers using the images from the stamp set. For these, I used Ruby Red, Honey Drizzle, and Dusk Crisp Dye Inks for the large flowers, Autumn Blaze and Deep Iris Crisp Dye Inks for the flower buds, and Olive Crisp Dye Ink for the leaves.
When this was done, I used the die to partially cut around the bottom and right side edge of the image. This created the peek-a-boo front. To add a little more interest to this, I added some patterned paper from Essential Black & White 6×6 Paper Pack inside the card so a little of it would show through the front.
