Masculine Memory Keeping Layouts feat. Sweet Signages (With Video Tutorial!)

Hello crafty friends! It's Nathalie with you today to share a new idea on creating masculine memory keeping layouts featuring the new Sweet Signages set.  This fun and versatile new stamp and die set is one you want to add to your stash, as you will be coming back to it time and time again!   Its simple design on the icons  and sentiments can create a simple background, or a layered look for an outstanding focal point.  Let me show you what I have created with this set:

Nothing better than clean, simple, colorful, and focused design to bring a masculine feel to your layouts.  This pocket page spread is all built with stamps and dies in just a short amount of time.  Let's take a closer look at all the details in this spread.

Simple color palette

I am opting for a simple color palette for this masculine memory keeping layout  as it complements the main colors in the photos, but also brings out the details in the small icons in the Sweet Signages set.  The tones in the Lapis Lazuli Fresh Dye Ink set contrast nicely with the tone in the Crimson Fresh Dye ink that is also featured here.

A clean design

There is so much interest in the photos of this spread, that it was easier to keep the rest simple and understated to ensure that each part of the spread is a main protagonist in its own and also together.

I am combining stamped designs from the Mini Delight Birthday Wishes on the background  of each part of this spread.  The festive designs in the stamped background make the pieces layered on top pop just a little bit more!

Colorful and fun design

Even when i am keeping a simple color palette, one of the keys to this masculine memory keeping layout is the soft play /ombre effect in the different tones of ink.  I am keeping the striped background from the Mini Delight Birthday Wishes in the same tones as  the icons from the Sweet Signages icons. I have arranged for the formation of the colors to flow from dark to light and then repeat.  In addition the contrast between the linear stamping on the background creates a nice contrast with the round icons -that also follow  the ombre formation on repeat-.

Add some layers

One of the perks of having simple designs is being able to layered them together to create a more interesting shape that brings it all together.  In this case, I am using the designs in the die cuts of the Sweet Signage to make it the focal point of the cards and title. The difference in colors and shapes add interest without bulk or too much dimension.

Process Video for Making the Masculine Memory Keeping Layout

I have created a video to show you how easily this spread came together with the new Sweet Signages.  You can watch the video here, or in Altenew YouTube channel in HD:

I hope the video inspires your next creation whether it is a masculine memory keeping layout or a project of your own.  I cannot wait to see what you will create with this idea!
