Dynamic Duo: Dainty Roses
With five stamps, the Dynamic Duo: Dainty Roses Stamp Set adds intricate details to the stenciled rose cluster. Stamp in dark hues for added impact. It also includes ten occasion-ready sentiments for versatile handmade card creations.
The Dynamic Duo: Dainty Roses Stencil Set showcases dainty rose clusters with subtle details hinting at their delicacy. Align and ink the layers to create a captivating arrangement, perfect for crafting swift and charming handmade cards.
This new Dynamic Duo release is a perfect combination of classic design and simplicity. The design of the florals creates a beautiful and customizable floral spray that can be used for all your projects. However, today we are going to take a look at how we can further use this set for a memory-keeping layout with a twist.
Memory-Keeping Layout, with a Touch of Flair and Dainty Roses
I wanted to bring a touch of flair to this memory-keeping layout by creating a see-through dashboard/title page. The idea of showing a peek of what is inside the album is a great welcoming page, however having all the beautiful Dynamic Duo: Dainty Roses frame the view makes it just that more special.
It started with creating all the blooms. For this, I used the Dynamic Duo: Dainty Roses, and Fresh Dye Inks to create all the roses. However, my choice was to separate the flowers from the spray, this allowed me a bit of freedom when forming the floral clusters in the page.
In the same way, I used the stencil to repeat only the leaves part of the design. Having the separate elements allowed me to bring that touch of flair to memory-keeping layouts.
Once all the Dainty Roses blooms were ready, I needed to create the peek-a-boo idea for the page. I used the Ornate Nesting Die Set to create the opening on the page. However, I took it to another level by adding a floating title to the page. This called for two well-aligned exact die cuts, or -like on this page- a folded piece of paper.
Having that folded piece of cardstock (with perfect die-cut alignment) allowed me to “sandwich” a piece of clear transparency paper in between the folds. All I needed was some strong adhesive to make sure the acetate stayed well in place.
Here is where the magic of the spread comes in – adding a touch of flair to your memory-keeping layouts by creating a floating element on the page. The key is to have matching elements on opposite sides of the page. For this, I used the Nesting Slim Labels Dies set and simple white cardstock. I simply glued the front label in place, then flipped the page, and covered the back of the label with the other die-cut.
I love how easy it was to go about adding a touch of flair to memory-keeping layouts. I also have a video that shows how it all came together. Watch it here, or in HD on the Altenew YouTube channel:
I cannot wait to see how you will apply this idea to your projects!
