Quick and Easy Holiday Memory Keeping Layout (With Video Tutorial!)
Hello crafty friends! It's Nathalie here with a new idea for a quick and easy holiday memory keeping layout featuring some of Altenew‘s latest products. I am still trying to catch up on documenting the past 2 holiday seasons ( it is always a busy time around here!). So, I am using the new Festive Ornaments Layering Die set, and Timeless Sentiments Holiday Edition to document a story in my 2022 December 6×8 album. Let's take a look at the project:
I love how this layout comes together easily and also ties two stories together by following the same idea, with a few small changes.

Be inspired by the color in your photos.
I am picking the colors in the sweaters my kids are wearing as the color palette for this layout. I am using Heartbeat and Nimbus from the Brilliant Blends Cardstock Bundle and Metallic Cardstock (Brushed Silver and Brushed Gold) to create the Festive Ornaments die-cuts.
I kept the colors in the title page simple, as my journaling will be added to the white space above the title. The limited color palette in the spread help to bring the page together.

Keep the design simple and clean
Keeping the design of the spread simple and clean is key to a quick and easy holiday memory keeping layout. I chose to hang my ornaments using Metallic Thread along the left edge of the page, and tie them to the top of the layout.
I am also keeping my title bold and simple. The design in the new Timeless Sentiments Holiday Edition die set caps off this page, while complementing the look of the page with shine and texture (Brushed Gold Metallic Cardstock, Dazzling Diamond Glitter Cardstock).
I repeated “hanging” design of the Festive Ornaments die-cuts in the pocket cards in my project. This brings it all together.

Washi Tape is a must!
I am taking advantage of Glitter Tape (Garnet Sparkle, and Turquoise Sparkle) as a means to bring the page together in a short amount of time. I trimmed some of the tape in half to bring a bit of extra interest to the sparkly strips.
Since I am using acetate paper to create my 3×4 pocket cards, the glitter tape is the perfect way to hide the back of the card in an elegant and quick way.

Add some extra interest with acetate
In order to bring two stories together in one spread, I am using acetate to create my pocket cards. I am opting to repeat the look of the cards on the back of the acetate cards, but changing the colors of the die-cuts and glitter tape to match the previous spread already in the album.
I am changing the color of the glitter tape to Turquoise (and covering the back of the tape) and the color of the ornaments to something less traditional (Minty Mint and Coral Bliss from the Brilliant Blends Cardstock Bundle, and Glitter Cardstock in Brilliant Red and Shimmering Shores) to match the ornaments in the spread on the right of the spread.
